open spaces

I had never heard of open space preserves until this weekend. Taxes, primarily, pay for the purchase and maintenance of these native, untamed habitats just a short distance from the cities surrounding them. A greenbelt is formed by an effort of trying to link open preserves with other park lands. The end result is walking into nature, and being surrounded by nothing else. It’s a freeing feeling, to know that you are uninterrupted, almost unattached to everything else going on.
